This mini-board is based on VLSI's VS1053B. The VS1053 is a versatile MP3 codec capable of decoding a wide range of music formats, including Ogg Vorbis / MP3 / AAC / WMA / MIDI audio. For the best listening experience on the headphones, the VS1053 includes EarSpeaker Spatial Processing to accurately simulate how a room with stereo speakers will sound. In addition to being able to decode all major formats, the VS1053 can also record in Ogg Vobis files. This branch lets you play MP3 files from an SD card through the SD card slot on the other side of the board.
