This air temperature and humidity sensor is double waterproofed and completely protected against condensation. Note: Even if buried in the soil, the sensor measures the relative humidity of the air in the soil, not the soil moisture.

1. Can this sensor measure soil temperature and humidity?

Answer: The definition of soil moisture is to take 1 kg of soil sample and thoroughly dry. The ratio of the reduced weight (weight of water) to 1 kg is called soil moisture.

Air relative humidity is defined as the percentage of absolute humidity at the current temperature to saturated humidity at the current temperature.

In summary, soil moisture and air humidity are not a concept, nor an order of magnitude. When the soil moisture is 10%, the humidity of the air in the soil is already 100%.

 

The internal chip of this sensor is sht10 or sht20. This chip is an air temperature and humidity sensor produced by Swiss Shengshi Ryan Company. It measures the relative humidity of air. This sensor has been specially treated and will not be damaged if it is buried in the soil for a long time. Even if it is charged in water, it will not be damaged (our company's exclusive promise). When faced with slightly humid soil, the air humidity in the soil will be long-term. It is 100%, and the measurement loses its meaning.

 

2. Will the sensor be damaged when it is soaked in water or condensed or buried in the soil?

 

A: All the sensors in our package have been potted. Even if they are soaked in water for a long time, they will not be damaged. They will be fished out and the humidity will be collected normally.

3. Is there any error in the measurement results of the sensor after potting?

 

A: Some non-professional manufacturers have the following problems:

 

(1) Potting glue absorbs moisture, especially in high humidity occasions. Once the humidity increases, it can't fall down. The reason is that the potting glue contains water.

(2) After welding, there is no resurgence treatment (many manufacturers have not even heard the word), causing great errors in temperature and humidity.

(3) The potting compound cracks with the temperature and the oxidation for a long time, and the water droplets cause electrophoresis on the surface of the circuit board after condensation, forming a failure.

4. What is double waterproof?

 

A: Our sheath is copper particle sintered or PE material, characterized by waterproof and breathable, water molecules can enter the sheath, water droplets can not enter the sheath due to surface tension. In the case of high humidity, water molecules inside the sheath will condense to form water when the ambient temperature is lowered. If the water droplets are attached to the circuit board, the circuit board may be electrophoresed and damaged. Therefore, the company has potted the circuit board and used a special potting material without any interference to the measured values.
