The 10A voltage and current meter has a built-in shunt, and the 50A/100A voltage and current meter is equipped with an external shunt (note that the shunt must be connected before connecting to the power supply)
Note: For a meter with a range of 50A or 100A, regardless of whether the measured current is less than 10A, a shunt must be connected to measure the current! Otherwise it will burn the meter head.
Voltage display is normal, current display 0.00 or 0.0
Make sure that the thick black wire is connected to the negative terminal of the battery and the thick red wire is connected to the negative terminal of the load. (Note that the wiring of discharging and charging is different, see the concept of load and power supply at the end). (The meter head uses the original imported chip, which has undergone very strict testing and calibration before leaving the factory. It is guaranteed to be 100% without quality problems before leaving the factory. 99.99% of the current display shows 0 because the wiring is incorrect. Please check the wiring patiently and carefully)
Inaccurate current display
If it is directly powered or the independent power supply and the equipment power supply share the same ground, just disconnect the thin black wire for accuracy.
No display when connected to power
All the rectified AC power must be filtered by an electrolytic capacitor above 1000uF before powering the meter.
Judge whether the header is good or not (the following are two cases of normal header)
Without connecting the shunt, connect the thin red wire and thin black wire to the power supply. The current of the meter with a range of 50A displays 50.0~59.9, and the meter with a range of 100A displays 100~109;
Connect the shunt, connect the thin red wire and thin black wire to the power supply, the current of the meter with a range of 50A displays 0.00, and the meter with a range of 100A displays 0.0;
Other matters needing attention
The measured current can only be connected to the negative pole of the power supply and the negative pole of the load.
Voltage range: The power supply voltage range of the 5-wire meter head is 4~28V, that is, the voltage connected to the thin red wire cannot exceed 28V.
About the concept of load and power supply
When discharging: batteries, switching power supplies, and transformers are power sources, and resistors, lamps, motors, and electrical equipment are loads.
When charging: chargers, generators, and solar energy are power sources, and rechargeable batteries and storage batteries are loads
Note: For the meter head with a shunt, the two thick red wires of the meter head must be connected to the thin screw of the shunt, and the negative pole of the power supply and the negative electrode of the load must be connected to the thick screw of the shunt.
