TPIC6C596 8-Bit Shift Register 7-Segment Display 7-Segment Digital Tube The  large digital driver is a connectable controller backpack that can be soldered directly to the back of our 6.5-inch, large 7-segment display. Large digital displays are an important addition to any project you want to see information remotely. The scorer and lap timer will be a good application for large 7-segment LED displays. The large digital driver can be connected to the back of a 7-segment display by soldering all 10 castle pins on the bottom of the board and two castles at the top. Keep in mind that large digital drivers require a 12V LED and a 5V onboard TPIC6C596 IC. Each drive has 6 input pins and 6 output pins, which allows the drives to be linked together. The input / output pins are listed as GND (ground for the 7-segment display).
