Low concentrations of malodorous gases such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide generated from wastes in office and home environments are highly sensitive. The sensor also has high sensitivity to low concentrations of volatile organic compounds such as toluene emitted from wood finishing and building products. Due to the miniaturization of the sensing chip, the TGS 2602 requires only 56mA of heater current and is available in a standard TO-5 package.
