This project is the latest version of our FTDI BASIC. It uses an SMD 6-pin connector on the bottom to make it smaller and more compact. Function remains unchanged. This is the FTDI FT232RL USB-to-serial ICs basic breakout board. The boards pins work with the FTDI cable and Arduino official and clone the 5V Arduino board. It can also be used for general serial applications. The main difference between this board is that it carries the DTR pin, not the RTS pin of the FTDI cable. The board will automatically reset any Arduino board with a reset pin leading to a 6-pin connector. Note: Windows 7 64-bit users report difficulties installing the latest version of the official FTDI driver. If Windows 7 does not recognize the driver after installation, unplug it from the USB port, uninstall it from Device Manager, insert it again and let Windows Update find the driver.
