1. Description:

WCS2702 hall current sensor mainly has two functions: one is followed analog signal via power amplifier, and it can be applied to A/D conversion; the other is on-off signal. Users can preset the limit current value. When the actual current is higher than preset current, the on-off signal will become high level from low level, and there is LED indicator lamp. It is simple and easy to use.

2. Features:

1>.Operating Voltage: DC 5V

2>.Current Detection Range: DC +/-2A; AC 1.4A (suitable for analog output)

3>.Linearity: K=1V/A

4>.Limited Current Range: 40Ma-2A (suitable for on-off output)

5>.With overcurrent signal indicator lamp

6>.With mounting hole, easy to install

7>.Sampling current switch analog voltage signal output, it can connect ADC; TTL level signal output, it can connect MCU IO port control

8>.Output signal is analog voltage signal and on-off signal

9>.Board Size:37*31mm

10>.Working temperature:-25~85℃

3. Interface definition:

1>.VCC: Power positive

2>.DOUT: TTL high/low level signal output

3>.GND: Power negative

4>.AOUT: sampling current signal conversion voltage output port

5>.IP+:Measured current input

6>.IP-:Measured current input

4.Analog Voltage Signal Output (AOUT) Using Introduction:

1>.Relationship between detection current and analog signal output is shown as below:

Analog Signal Output: V0=Vcc*0.5±Ia*K (Ia is actual current through current detection pin, and K is linearity )

2>.For example input current is 1A , Vcc=5V, and WCS2702 linearity is 1V/A.

Let’s simply explain the corresponding relationship between WCS2702 detection current and output voltage:

1).When the current flows into from positive direction(From IP+ to IP-):

Formula: V0=Vcc*0.5+ Ia*K

Corresponding output: V0=(2.5+1)V=3.5V

2).When the current flows into from negative direction(From IP- to IP+):

Formula: V0=Vcc*0.5- Ia*K

Corresponding output V0=(2.5-1)V=1.5V

.If it is AC signal:
V0=Vcc*0.5+ Ia*K

Corresponding output range: 2.44V-2.56V

Above are ideal values, and there might be some little precision error.

5.On-off Output (DOUT) Using Introduction:

If the current is higher than 1A in a circuit, and users want this module to output high level

Step 1: let one port of the wire go through the sensor round hole (please note that current flows in from positive direction), then open the power and adjust the detection current to 1A; reversely rotate the adjustable resistor Vref until the red LED is on (LED is just on from off, then please do not adjust it)

Step 2: above limit current 1A setting has done. Remove the 1A current, and LED lamp is on

Step 3: when detection current is higher than 1A, and red LED is off; then the module Dout will output high level
